Have you ever wondered how to generate the exotic tempo of the Brazilian Samba drums which makes the carnival dancers boogie for days at a go??? |

Introduction to Brazilian Samba Percussion is more than just a workshop. It’s a powerful interactive drumming experience, where you will start-off right with the basics and then progress on.

Samba is a Brazilian dance and musical genre originating in African roots. It is recognized around the world as a symbol of Brazil and the Brazilian Carnival.
|

In the workshop sessions you will be instructed and guided to play alone as well as play in a group. Different kinds of percussive instruments will be used during the session. You will have an introduction to the basics of Cuban Conga drums and will be introduced to Brazilian Samba drumming techniques. Other exotic percussion patterns will also be taught as the program progresses. |

We will be focusing on the Brazilian Bateria , a group of drummers all playing various percussion patterns that when put together comes to become one exotic uplifting rhythm, carnival style. You will also be integrated into our in-house Brazilian musical group, making & playing the rhythms of Samba. |

- Introduction to Brazilian Samba Percussion
- Manage basic drumming techniques
- Rhythm and timing

Day II |
- Develop listening skills and music appreciation
- Playing exotic drum patterns
- Playing in Bateria style as Brazilian Carnival band.

Day III |
- Motivate the participants to develop their own skills introduced
- Play and create rhythms

Xavier has a unique style of percussion that incorporates a mixture of music styles ranging between Caribbean, Latin and Brazilian infusion.
|

He uses these infusions to create magic when he plays with Performers, Bands and DJs. His unique blend of percussion has taken him all over the world. |

• Performing at The Glastonbury Festival with Basement Jaxx.
• Playing for the Carnival at Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
• The Brixton Academy (London) with Carl Cox.
