Lakeeren Art gallery is pleased to announce the 1st solo exhibition of Baroda based artist Ritesh Ajmeri entitled Winding Time. In this debut show the artist incorporates a metaphoric landscape so as to allude to past moments. Through his body of sculptural- objects and video, he questions if memory and remembering are only encoded on the brain? What is role of the body in this process, does the body remember and leaves traces of what it records? In manifesting the haptic, Ajmeri’s works utilizes rust and time-based performance as evidence of a physicality of those lapses, that retrospectively allow us to record, mediate and revisit these moments through an corporeal engagement.
