It is a dancer's dream to have the split second of his/her movement and gesture frozen in a photograph for eternity. This frozen frame may have captured that elusive movement of flight, never to happen again. It is a photographer's ability to see beyond what a human eye can see. David and Sumeet work together to teach you to feel the palpable dynamic tension between dance & photography and how to slice that moment into a fraction of a second to create that crystal sharp image.
Calling photographers and dancers to AVID's never done before 4-day workshop, where the two art forms cross-pollinate. 'Movement in Stillness' is an experience of the symbiotic relationship between dance & photography. This interactive practical learning, with a theoretical overview eases you both in the process of dance & photographing it by a fairly surprising and easy to learn process.
If you are a dancer with a passion to learn or a photographer having some basic skill and a camera with manual features then this workshop is for you! You can engage in a mutually enriching interaction to make the magic happen and see yourself on stage on the final day of the workshop besides seeing your photographs exhibited.
